Inspiration

I grew up in Toronto until I was in grade 2, before moving to the Middle East in the 90s. Growing up there was a gift...it immersed me in the beautiful culture and traditions that have shaped the person I am today. On weekends, I was often asked to babysit younger kids when guests visited, a job I didn’t love at first, but it taught me how to guide, organize, have fun, and most importantly, to be patient! That patience grew into my love for teaching. My inspiration comes from my lived experiences. I write children’s books to help kids see themselves in stories, feel proud of their roots, and celebrate the beauty of Arab culture. I'm thankful to call both Canada and Kuwait home, two places that have left a special mark in my heart.
